Medical implant work is not just small in terms of workpiece sizes. Lot sizes and lead times can also be small when the product is still under development. To compete for implant work, this shop aims to offer cost savings in the face of all of this smallness.
The five-axis LinX Compact series of medium-sized linear motor milling machines uses a mobile crossbeam to support both high speed and high-power operations. Three versions are available—LinX 20, LinX 30 and LinX 35—offering Y-axis strokes of 79, 116 or 144". The minimum X-axis stroke of these machines is 79", but this can be increased using modular, 79" extensions.
