Vargus Thread Milling Tools Optimize Internal, External Applications
IMTS 2024: Vargus USA displays supersonic threading cutting tool lines Mach TT and Mach TM.
Vargus Ltd. displays its Mach supersonic threading tool lines. Developed for threading productivity, the Mach line offers tools for both thread milling (Mach TM) and thread turning (Mach TT) applications. Vargus has also expanded its range of Mach TT external applications to include solutions for IC 1/2" (L-16 mm). According to the company, Mach tools can work twice as fast as standard cutting tools and provide maximized machining productivity and high profitability.
Mach TT tool features include an improved rake, reinforced geometry, internal thread turning capabilities and high resistance with a reduced number of passes. The dovetail clamping system is rigid and designed for machining heavy loads. The VK8 grade is one example that includes an AlTiN + TiN PVD coating, along with an improved profile design for a threading surface finish for general purpose applications. The Mach TT tools are in the Vargus Genius, the company’s advanced cutting tool selector and CNC program generator.
The company says the advantage of its Mach TM tools is a high feed rate per flute, which can decrease machining time and boost productivity. Mach TM tools feature improved cutting edges and surface treatment and reinforced geometry for high loads. The cutting tools are designed with through-coolant for better chip flow and surface finish. The large core diameter is said to increase stability and the optimal flute length can enable high rigidity and efficient chip evacuation. The VH4 grade, offered with a TiCN PVD coating, is designed for machining general applications with high wear resistance. Its feed rate is also reportedly capable of decreasing machining time and increasing tool life by 50% more than standard cutting tools.
