Renishaw’s Dedicated Facility Makes Custom Additive Medical Parts
The Healthcare Center of Excellence is located adjacent to the company’s South Wales site, where it makes its additive equipment.
Renishaw has completed a new Healthcare Center of Excellence at its site in South Wales, United Kingdom. The center provides a facility for the manufacture of custom medical devices as well as education and training for the life sciences community.
The facility highlights the company’s technology advances for the healthcare sector, including patient-specific implants, dentistry and neurosurgery. It contains a mock non-sterile operating theater and facilities for education, training, workshops and lectures, plus a facility for the manufacture of class-3 custom medical devices produced on Renishaw metal additive manufacturing machines.
The manufacturing facility within the Healthcare Center of Excellence produces custom medical devices under an ISO 13485 quality management system. Renishaw’s metal additive manufacturing machines, manufactured in the adjacent facility, enable the precision production of dental frameworks, craniomaxillofacial implants, jigs and guides.
