Verisurf Software Inc.’s Machine Tool Probing (MTP) solution is designed to support in-process inspection directly on CNC machine tools. As a CAD/CAM-based metrology software, Verisurf continues to build on its intelligent model-based definition (MBD) with added features, enhancements and optimized workflows for inspection, reporting, reverse engineering, tool building and guided assembly.
MTP offers universal compatibility as well as inspection and reporting options beyond typical CMMs. Autonomous on-machine milling and inspection can be accomplished with a single setup. According to the company, CMM hardware costs can be eliminated, parts do not need to be moved to and from the metrology lab, environmental stability is maintained, no additional fixtures or realignment of parts are necessary for measurement and the closed-loop process can improve overall process control.
Verisurf software is configured in application modules and delivered through solution suites designed to optimize the user experience and execution of workflows. The Verisurf user interface enables users to quickly navigate workflows, features, tools and capabilities, helping to maximize metrology investments, the company says.
Verisurf is built on the Mastercam platform, which enables the CAM and computer-aided inspection (CAI) programming to be generated using the same software. The programming process and file management complexity can be reduced, measurement results can be directly applied to improve machining and overall process control is said to be increased by closing the loop between the physical machined part and the intelligent CAD model.
“The Verisurf MTP Suite provides extended flexibility for quality inspection. Our no-code programming and open platform compatibility enable customers to create automated inspection plans with efficiency that can be executed on stationary or portable CMMs, and now, on all equipped CNC machine tools, as well,” says Ernie Husted, Verisurf’s president and CEO.
