Available from Alignment Supplies, GLOi AB’s ShaftLaser system integrates with iOS devices to provide cost-effective laser shaft alignment. The system consists of two wireless, Bluetooth laser measuring units pre-assembled on shaft brackets with adaptable components for mounting with chains or magnets. It is capable of performing a standard 9-12-3 clock-position measurement or using a minimum of two 20-degree rotations of the shafts. The alignment system uses iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch devices equipped with its free measurement program apps, such as Shaft Alignment and Soft Foot, which can be downloaded from the Apple store.
Through iOS devices, the system offers an intuitive shaft-alignment interface in a 3D layout with live alignment diagrams. Graduated tolerance control shows both acceptable and excellent tolerances, and vertical and horizontal misalignment results are displayed simultaneously to simplify corrections. Fully customizable PDF reports can be preset with template information and can be shared like other files via email, MMS and cloud services. Help functions such as video demonstrations and instructions are embedded within the interface.
