Probe Analyzes Dimensions, Surface Finish
Mitutoyo’s Surftest probe analyzes surface roughness on the company’s CNC CMMs, eliminating the need for workpiece changeover to a second measurement device.
Mitutoyo’s Surftest probe analyzes surface roughness on the company’s CNC CMMs, eliminating the need for workpiece changeover to a second measurement device. The Surftest probe combines dimensional evaluation and surface finish analysis in a single operation. A PH10M or 10MQ articulating probe head provides access to features requiring rotation for surface roughness measurement. The probe is compatible with Mitutoyo’s modular Mcosmos coordinate measurement software as well as its Surfpak-SP software. The probe is able to perform surface roughness analysis while the Geopak module of the Mcosmos program controls the probe movement and calibration functions. Available detectors include standard, deep groove, small hole, extra-small hole and gear tooth surface.
