Mazak’s Integrex i-630V multitasking machine performs heavy-duty five-axis cutting via high-torque turning and milling spindles, including B- and C-axis capabilities. X-, Y- and Z-axis travels measure 58" × 41.3" × 41.3" (1,475 × 2,047 × 2,047 mm) and rapid traverse rates are 2,047 ipm (52 m/min.).

The machine features Mazak’s Matrix 2 CNC for optimized five-axis machining. A five-axis spline interpolation function included in the control’s software provides smooth toolpaths from long block-by-block programs, tool vector control and improved surface finishes.

Three milling spindles are available for different material requirements: a 50-taper 10,000-rpm spindle, a 5,000-rpm spindle with 387 foot-pounds of torque and a 15,000-rpm high-speed spindle. Square and round pallet shapes are available for the two-pallet changer to handle workpieces ranging to 41.5" (1,050 mm) in diameter and 39.3" (1,000 mm) in height. Square pallets measure 24.8" × 24.8" (630 × 630 mm), while round pallets are 31.5" (800 mm) in diameter.

The machine can operate in a fully automated manufacturing system paired with Mazak’s Orbitech 20 large-part machining center linked together with the Palletech manufacturing system. Parts can undergo turning operations on the Orbitech 20 and then transfer to the Integrex i-630V for completion without refixturing.
