Nanospark’s CNC Machine Monitor system consists of a hardware device installed on a machine tool and a corresponding app installed on a tablet. The system is compatible with any machine using 12- or 24-V DC controls. This approach is intended to be both simple to set up and adaptable to individual shop needs. According to the company, the monitoring system’s near-universal compatibility enables manufacturers with multiple machine types and brands to implement a single monitoring solution.

Once the hardware device has been installed on a machine tool, the system enables users to configure the events they want to monitor by using an app on an included tablet. The app walks the user through event configuration, specifying what to watch for, when to monitor and who should receive the alert. Machine status alerts are sent out by email or text message. The app also helps users to configure meaningful efficiency reports by job, by shift or according to a custom schedule. Reports, displayed in chart and graph formats, are delivered by email.
