Iscar’s Helido Upfeed line of high-feed milling tools now includes the H600 WXCU 0403 insert, which is designed for 16- and 20-mm-diameter tools. (The complete milling tool line features diameters ranging from 0.630" to 5".) The insert, which is firmly clamped into a dovetail pocket, is available in Sumo Tec grades and with various rake angles for use on a range of materials and applications.
The line’s FF EWX-04 end mills are available in 0.630" and 0.750" diameters with various shank lengths and cylindrical, Weldon, Multi-Master and Flexfit shank types. The tools have a 17-degree lead angle configuration, which directs cutting forces axially toward the machine tool spindle. The tools are designed for stability during high-feed machining, even for long-overhang applications, the company says.
All of the cutters have coolant holes to increase performance and tool life during high-feed milling, ramping, plunging and helical interpolation applications. According to the company, the tools and inserts are especially useful for machining narrow cavities in die and mold production.
