Measurement System Features Wireless Connectivity to iOS units

Alignment Supply’s Alisensor Level is designed for accurate measurement of complex geometries in machine tooling and precision manufacturing environments. The system consists of a sensor unit and an iOS unit, such as an iPod, iPhone or iPad. The sensor unit contains MEMS gyros, inclinometers and a microprocessor. Through sensor interaction, data of angularity are provided via Bluetooth wireless technology to the iOS unit, which provides a user-friendly environment for the operator to analyze the data, the company says. Typical measurement applications include straightness, flatness, parallelism and squareness.
Available as an accessory for the Alisensor Level with 100-mm fixture base, the Alisensor Level VF system features a cross-functional, L-shaped fixture base. This base can be reconfigured to accommodate measurements of straightness, level, squareness, flatness, plumb, shaft straightness or level, horizontal spindle direction, vertical spindle direction, and more. The L-shaped fixture base features a shaft/cylinder adapter, which fits onto the vertical or horizontal plane to mount the fixture on shafts or other rounded objects. Two spindle bit attachments are included to increase versatility.
Three landing points are available on the L-shaped fixture on both the vertical and horizontal plane. Magnets are featured on both sides, and the fixture is tapped for either a 0.5" spindle bit or a 10-mm spindle bit for either horizontal or vertical spindle applications.
