Designed to reduce setup time, Earth-Chain’s MagVise electro-permanent (EEPM) magnetic workholding chucks are useful for drilling, milling and boring operations in thick or thin workpieces. Sliding-pole extensions support uneven workpieces so the chucks can grip rough, uneven or round stock. According to the company, the vise eliminates workpiece distortion, which can reduce tool chatter and improve surface finish and tool life. Because the chuck uses no electricity, it will maintain its grip even during a power loss. Available in 26 sizes, it uses a neodymium iron boron magnet with holding power of 100 metric tons per square meter. The chuck is designed to integrate with pallet-changing and FMS systems.
