DMG MORI presents its extended Sprint series of turning centers, including the 32|5 and 32|8, designed for turning workpieces as long as 600 mm and ranging to 32 mm in diameter. Featuring a compact footprint, the Sprint 32|5 machines materials in rod form using two spindles and a two-channel controller. Twenty-two tools working on two independent workpiece carriers also makes it possible to perform complex machining processes. The automatic lathes also can also machine demanding workpieces radially at the main spindle with four driven tools. In total, they are equipped with five linear axes and one C axis for the main spindle. Other options include an unloading device for workpieces as long as 600 mm and a high-pressure coolant supply.
The Sprint 32|8 is equipped with three independent linear carriers for four-axis machining on the main spindle and offers space for as many as 28 tools. The machine has six linear axes, including a second Y axis; two C axes are available as well, one for the main spindle and one for the counter spindle.
