Improved Groove-Turn Inserts Last Longer, Cut Faster
Iscar has improved its line of Cut-Grip and Heli-Grip groove-turn tools with a CVD-coated substrate that is said to increase tool life and productivity.
Iscar has improved its line of Cut-Grip and Heli-Grip groove-turn tools with a CVD-coated substrate that is said to increase tool life and productivity. According to the company, it performs well on steel, but also handles other materials effectively.
The inserts are made of grade IC8250, which offers improved performance over grades IC9015, IC9054 and IC9025, the company says. The Sumo Tec surface treatment improves tool performance by sealing micro-cracks in the insert surface. This treatment reduces friction and built-up edge to improve cutting edge chipping resistance.
According to the company, the grade is designed to replace grades IC 9015, IC 9054 and IC 9025, and it will eventually become the mainstay grade across its entire groove-turn line.
