View MoreTongtai’s TMV-1050Q-II, available from Absolute Machine Tools, is well-suited for both high-volume machining applications and mold/die work. The ultra-high performance, heavy-duty VMC features a 15,000-rpm, 15-hp direct-drive spindle, 1,890-ipm (47,250-mm/min.) rapids on all three axes, and oversized servomotors and ballscrews.
The machine’s worktable measures 43.3" × 23.6" (1,082 × 590 mm) and X-, Y- and Z-axis travels measure 41.3" × 23.6" × 20.8" (1,032 × 590 × 520 mm), respectively. Constructed of heavy Meehanite FC-30 castings for strength and vibration damping, the machine features NSK linear ways on all axes with large-diameter (40 mm/1.57") pre-tensioned ballscrews. High rigidity enables cutting feed rates from 0.01 to 944 ipm, positioning accuracy of ±0.0002" (0.05 mm) and repeatability of ±0.0001" (0.0025 mm).
The standard high-performance, high-torque, direct-drive spindle is oil-cooled for thermal stability. An electronic high/low switch gear provides a range of power and torque. The 70-mm (2.75") spindle shaft features six bearings to maximize stiffness and cutting stability. The machine is equipped for high-pressure, through-spindle coolant, and 300- or 1,000-psi coolant pumps are available as an option.
A standard 30-tool, high-speed, synchronous-arm-type automatic toolchanger changes tools in 2 sec.. Twin screw-type chip conveyors discharge at the rear of the machine, and a caterpillar lift-up style chip conveyor carries chips to a hopper. A FANUC 31iM-B control is standard.
