High-Feed Milling Cutter Fills Application Gap

Sandvik Coromant presents a high-feed milling cutter for diameters ranging from 13 to 32 mm (0.512" to 1.26"). According to the company, this addition fills the application gap between the round tools assortment series and high-feed products such as the CoroMill 210 and CoroMill 419. Features include iLock insert seat interface, designed to deliver high stability and reduce the potential for scrap workpieces. The insert seat itself supports the small inserts that are easier to handle.
The tool is capable of delivering elevated metal removal rates, the company says, an outcome that is supported further by the cutter’s high density and high feed capacity. In turn, high metal removal rates are supported by the extra-close H pitch, ensuring that more than one tooth is always engaged in cut.
Additionally, although the inserts are small, each tool offers four cutting edges designed to help reduce cost per component and boost competitive advantage. The CoroMill 415 is available with the Coromant EH (Exchangeable Head) interface which enables access to an assortment of solid carbide cutting heads, indexable milling cutters, boring heads, integrated machine adaptors and shanks.
