Pi Tape’s gages are available in either inches or millimeters. Standard tapes marked in inches read to 0.001", with an accuracy of ± 0.001" up to 144". Tapes marked in millimeters read to 0.01 mm, with an accuracy of ± 0.03mm up to 3,600 mm. Provided with each tape is a certificate of calibration traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Micrometers, calipers or laser-type distance measuring devices typically require that the user perform several readings and then obtain the average. According to the company, users can wrap Pi Tape gages around the inside or outside of a form and obtain a diameter reading with accuracy to 0.001".
The product line includes direct OD and ID measuring tapes, go/no-go tapes, linear tapes and O-ring tapes. The company also manufactures specialty tapes to meet customer-specific requirements, such as wide and narrow tapes, custom length tapes and tapes with special markings. Two styles are available for low-light environments and stainless steel tapes for use in corrosive environments. The company offers recalibration services for all of its measurement products as well.
