View MoreThe Doosan FM 200/5AX Linear is a high-speed, high-precision, full five-axis machining center designed for simultaneous five-axis contouring. Applications include medical devices, automotive turbochargers, and other precision mold and die parts.
The machining center is built on a rigid bridge-type base composed of a highly stable mineral composite material. This mineral composite bed improves surface finishes, isolates vibration for increased tool life and provides thermal stability, the company says.
The X, Y and Z axes are driven by high-precision linear motors to provide high acceleration and deceleration, as well as feed rates with virtually no backlash. X-, Y- and Z-axis travels measure 7.9" × 13.4" × 11.8". Rapid traverse rates are 1,968.5 ipm in all axes with cutting feed rate of 787 ipm. The fourth- and fifth-axis rotary tables are equipped with direct-drive motors to deliver matching high speeds, and rapid acceleration and deceleration. The platter measures 7.9" in diameter and offers a capacity load of 33.1 lbs.
The high-speed, 45,000-rpm, 19-hp spindle minimizes vibration for greater stability and features a HSK E40 taper. The machining center also offers 24 tool stations in its direct-drive, servo-driven automatic toolchanger. The ATC accommodates tools ranging to 2" in diameter and 7.1" long, and weighing as much as 2.2 lbs.
