Leaders-In background
L.S. Starrett has expanded its No. 799 Series of electronic calipers to include models with range extending to 40" (1,016 mm). The lightweight calipers have a slim profile and are desinged for ergonomics and ease of use. Features include zero at any position, inch/mm conversion, an LCD display and easy battery access. The 24" and 40" extended-range models have the same features of models covering the 0" to 12" range and more. Additional features include a 0.5" high readout on the LCD display; automatic shutoff after 30 minutes of inactivity; a preset/hold feature that allows the user to enter a preset value or hold the reading after a measurement has been taken; and the capability to set minimum and maximum limits. The body, slide and jaws are constructed of hardened stainless steel. A thumb wheel enables fine adjustment, while a lock screw holds the slide in position. Each model is also equipped with an integrated depth rod.
