Deep-Hole Gundrill Enables Easy Head Replacement
Iscar’s Chamgun gundrill for deep-hole drilling enables drilling heads to be replaced while the driver is still connected to the machine.
Iscar’s Chamgun gundrill for deep-hole drilling enables drilling heads to be replaced while the driver is still connected to the machine and without removing the drill from the spindle while indexing.
With a drill range of 9.8 to 16.19 mm, the drill body can accommodate a variety of drill head profiles, with standard drilling heads ranging from 0.2 to 0.3 mm. The drill pocket can sustain at least 15 head replacements in a variety of diameters and geometries, and chipbreakers designed for use on a variety of materials.
Additional features include coated and uncoated carbide grades, and standard pad profiles. The drill can achieve drilling precision of IT7 to IT9 tolerance. It is possible to regrind and recoat the drilling head as many as 10 times with good repeatability, the company says.
