Chucks For Quick Jaw Changes

Share

Leaders-In background

The D-Chuck is a quick-jaw-change diaphragm chuck for hard turning gears. The elastic deformation of the chuck’s diaphragm is said to provide constant, adjustable clamping force with high precision. The clamping system of the chuck has no sliding parts. This eliminates friction and contributes to greater precision, reduced maintenance and longer chuck life, the company says. The quick-jaw-change system uses an ABS Coupling, which is designed to offer rigidity and accuracy. According to the company, jaws can be changed in less than 1 minute, thereby facilitating fast change-over between jobs, and matched jaw sets can be used on different chucks with no loss of accuracy. Centrifugal force caused by the jaws during operation is compensated with counterbalance weights connected internally to the clamping mechanism.
