Rittal North America, a global manufacturer of industrial and IT enclosures, introduces the Perforex MT 2201 automated milling terminal that enables accelerated throughput times for enclosure modifications.

Rittal says its Perforex MT 2201 features single cycle, completely automated drilling, tapping and milling across enclosure sizes and material types alongside repeatable accuracy and reliability. These features were implemented on the Perforex MT 2201 with the idea it would help system integrators and OEMs reduce labor costs, improve delivery times, and increase efficiency up to 85 percent compared to manual enclosure modification.

In addition to these aspects, Rittal included many ergonomic improvements to the Perforex MT 2201 in a bid to increase its accessibility, safety, efficiency and user-friendliness. Included in the Perforex MT 2201’s design is floor sealing around the machine to make for easy cleaning. An improved vacuum hose design and added chip-breaking cycle was designed to reduce clogging and downtime. A pendant arm option and pneumatic clamp actuation is also featured. The milling terminal is now equipped with an improved plexiglass safety barrier. There is also an optical automatic tool and broken bit measurement.
