View MoreUnited Grinding North America recently appointed Alonso Acevedo to the position of managing director for its Mexico territory.
Acevedo brings 27 years of experience in the machine tool industry, including 12 years on the end-user side and 15 years in various sales roles. He is focused on finding ideal solutions for customers and providing premium service.
“I am excited to be joining the United Grinding North America team as the new managing director of United Grinding Mexico,” Acevedo says. “Based on my 27 years in the machine tool industry, I know the machines in the United Grinding portfolio are some of the highest quality and most precise grinding equipment in the world. It’s an honor to be managing the Mexican operation of this powerful product line. Mexico is a growing market and there is a lot of opportunity, particularly in the grinding business, and I look forward to delivering world-class machines and service to our customers in Mexico.”
Acevedo’s arrival coincides with the signing of Intermaq, a CNC machine dealer based in Zapopan, just outside of Guadalajara. Mexico is said to be a strong machining market with promise to grow, and United Grinding intends to have a major supportive presence there for the long term.
“We are excited to welcome Alonso to the team. He brings a wealth of knowledge around precision manufacturing and has strong relationships with many existing customers. I look forward to the further development of our Mexican market as this is a very important and strategic market for United Grinding North America,” says Markus Stolmar, president and CEO of United Grinding North America.
“We are working hard on developing the Mexican market, and bringing Alonso on board is another important step towards maximizing the potential in Mexico,” Stolmar continues. “Along with our new dealer partner, Intermaq, and our existing sales and service teams, we are in a great position to make big strides in 2024 and beyond.”
