MasterTask Training Systems will introduce its "Mastering CNC Swiss - Online" course at IMTS 2008 in booth A-8040. Attendees can select from Citizen, Star or Tsugami lathes as well as bar loaders from LNS, Citizen or Iemca. The course is designed to provide instructions in both basic CNC machining as well as procedures specific to the selected machine/barloader combination. During the testing portion, trainees will view screen displays, control panels and machinery components for the selected brands and attempt to complete job tasks in simulation. If they make any mistakes, they repeat the procedure until they achieve a perfect score. Trainees can return to instructions within each module as often as needed. Grades are not an issue because trainees must achieve 100 percent on each test-rather, they are evaluated by the rate at which they progress. Instruction and testing include 3D and 2D animated graphics, slow-motion video and real-world examples of Swiss machining. The course consists of four levels that take trainees through basic operation, setup and basic programming skills. The 30 modules include 77 sections of core and specific content on the CNC Swiss machines and bar loaders. For more information from MasterTask, visit www.mastertask.com.
