Okuma America Corp. will present “Get Connected. Put IIoT to Work for You” at its annual Technology Showcase to be held December 6-7 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Machine tool users will learn the benefits of connecting their shop floor and using data to raise efficiencies, expand capabilities and advance business. Participants will also view cutting demonstrations on more than 20 machine tools.

The scheduled learning sessions include:

  • Blaser Liquid Tool Analyzer: All coolants are not equal in their performance. Attendees will learn how to improve tool life, surface finish and metal removal rates by using the right coolant.

  • IIoT, Predix: The IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) and GE Predix are premised upon real-time, unfiltered machine tool information. This session will give insight into GE’s Brilliant Factory and the tools that are available to harness shopfloor data to increase efficiencies.

  • OSP and ECO suites, App Store: Okuma’s OSP suite and ECO suite are designed to make using and navigating Okuma’s OSP control easier. These suites will be introduced in this session along with the availability and creation of apps to perform many common tasks.

  • Smart Tool: Velocity will share how toolholders and tooling can be mated to each other so that their individual frequencies blend into one fully assembled and balanced preset solution using BlueSwarf technology.
