Mazak Appoints New President
Former president Brian Papke will now serve as chairman.
Mazak Corp. (Florence, Kentucky) has announced that Brian Papke, longtime company president, has accepted a new position as chairman. Daniel Janka, former executive vice president, has been named company president. Mr. Janka will assume the normal operating functions of North American operations, including the iSmart factory, North American headquarters and the company’s eight Technology Centers located throughout North America.
Mr. Papke personally selected Janka, who joined Mazak in early 2016. According to the company, Mr. Janka’s experience in the machine tool industry and involvement with machine tool utilization software and five-axis technology at past positions meshes well with the iSmart factory and manufacturing concept as well as the company’s commitment to MTConnect.
Mr. Papke has been with Mazak since 1987 and served as company president since 1989.
