Hexagon Business Unit Specializes in IoT Development
The Integrated Solutions team will focus on developing systems to collect shopfloor data.
Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence (North Kingstown, Rhode Island) has launched its Integrated Solutions strategic business unit dedicated to Smart Factory systems for advanced manufacturing.
The team will develop automated commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) systems by integrating the company’s 3D measurement technologies with sensors, software and robotics. The systems are intended to deliver actionable information for predictive manufacturing in a connected Internet of Things (IoT) environment. According to the company, operators and managers will be enabled to monitor, troubleshoot and control production using on-demand access to real-time factory-floor data.
The team is also developing systems featuring robotics integrated with metrology technologies. These in-line, near-line or off-line measurement work cells will be scalable, portable, modular and ready for use on the shop floor. The systems will collect and process data continuously during production operations.
