View MoreTrunnion tables offer an effective way to get the most out of a rotary indexer. They enable shops to machine multiple sides of a part on a VMC without unclamping it. Plus, when quick-change subplates are used, an operator can set up a new job in a fixture mounted on another subplate while the machine runs the current job. This also makes it possible to easily load a variety of workholding devices installed on subplates, such as collet chucks, vises and so on.
One example is the Stallion trunnion table from Martin Manufacturing. This video gives you an idea as to how quickly subplates can be changed-out on these types of tables.
