Bow Machining II

What does a bow say about manufacturing? Quite a bit, actually. Bows from Elite feature trigger parts machined through EDM, composite laminate upper and lower limbs cut with waterjet, and a riser and other components milled out of aluminum on a vertical machining center.

What does a bow say about manufacturing? Quite a bit, actually. Bows from Elite feature trigger parts machined through EDM, composite laminate upper and lower limbs cut with waterjet, and a riser and other components milled out of aluminum on a vertical machining center. MC Machinery Systems in Wood Dale, Illinois, had the bow and its components on display at its open house last week, because MC Machinery (part of the Mitsubishi Corporation) supplies all of these machine tool types: EDM, waterjet and machining centers. The bow illustrates how the company can act as a single-source provider of machine tools even for a product that includes a diverse assembly of components.

Coincidentally, this was one of two bows featured at simultaneous events by Chicago-area machine tool companies. Read about the other.
