Russ Scoffield's automated cell at Big Sky EDM in Hayden Lake, Idaho, features seven Fanuc Robocut wire EDM units and a robot on a 60-foot rail transfer unit. The cell is designed primarily to cut PCD or CBN segments from 58mm-diameter wafers in a fully automated mode capable of running 24/7.
