Milltronics’ showcases its Inspire+ control, which visitors will be able to interact with using in-booth consoles. Inspire+ enhances the user interface and improves surface finish and cycle times. The new control also provides faster and complete simulation for complex parts, Industry 4.0 and IoT support, as well as enhanced customer service capabilities that include remote troubleshooting and diagnostics. Inspire+ is also built for growth; it supports new machine technologies, including five-axis and live-tooling lathes, and was designed with an open architecture for future developments.

The Inspire+ control is being featured on every machine on display, which include the new VM250IL, Milltronics’ first five-axis mill, the VM3020IL (three-axis mill), VM4020 (three-axis mill), VK4II (toolroom mill) and TRL18 (toolroom lathe).

VM250IL: This five-axis vertical machining center (VMC) features a 10" trunnion table and XYZ-axis travels measuring 21.7" × 20" × 20.5". The rotary table offers +40/-120 degrees of A-axis rotation and 360 degrees in the C-axis. The machine is equipped with either a 10,000- or 15,000-rpm in-line spindle. A 40-station, swing-arm, automatic tool changer (ATC) comes standard.

VM3020IL: The VM3020IL is a three-axis VMC with 30" × 18" × 22" in XYZ travels and a 34" × 20" table that supports 3,140 lbs. of weight at full speed. It also features a 24-hp, 12,000-rpm, Big-Plus spindle. Its advanced surface finish capabilities are on display at IMTS.

VM4020: The VM4020 three-axis machining center provides 40" × 20" × 20" of XYZ travels, a 46" × 20" table, a 20-hp spindle motor, 10,000-rpm, Big-Plus spindle and much more. Milltronics highlights its surface finish capabilities at IMTS.

VK4II: This full three-axis CNC knee mill features a specialized Milltronics MillSlide that provides rigid, CNC-programmable, Z-axis travel and enables the entire head to traverse up and down. The optional Quill Scale integrates with the CNC feedback and features a built-in Z-axis digital readout (DRO). With 33" × 14.25" × 5.25" of XYZ travels (MillSlide), 16.5" knee and 5.83" of quill travel, the VK4II can be run as manual, teach or full CNC. IMTS visitors can see a demonstration highlighting the VK4II’s advanced cutting technology.

TRL18: This toolroom lathe features a swing of 18.7", length of 60" and a 2.56" spindle bore. Featuring a 24-hp, 2,600-rpm spindle, it produces 255 ft-lbs. of torque. The TRL18 comes standard with an eight-station, electro-mechanical turret. Options include chucks and chip conveyor.
