July 2016 Product Spotlight Slideshow: Measurement and Inspection
This month’s Modern Equipment Review Spotlight focuses on equipment and software for measurement and inspection.
This portable Leica scanner, available from Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, handles large-volume inspection applications. Designed for usability, it performs freeform surface inspection on intricate workpieces, even those with dark or shiny metallic materials, the company says.
These calipers from Mahr Federal are now equipped with wireless data transmission. The calipers send data to a small i-stick receiver, enabling export to Microsoft Excel.
OGP’s RP1500 optical measurement sensor has a 32-mm working distance, enabling various applications.
Perceptron’s Expert CMM system CNC-controlled, combining contact and non-contact functions. By extracting features from the point cloud rather than the rendered STL format, it’s said to provide faster, more accurate measurements.
The Primo system from Renishaw consists of a Radio Part Setter and a Radio 3D Tool Setter, enabling automated, on-machine part setting and inspection as well as tool setting. The system is said to eliminate the need for extensive G-code knowledge with the supplied GoProbe software package.
