Zeiss Software Update Streamlines the Measurement Process
The Zeiss Calypso 2021 software update reportedly delivers measurement results 20 times faster than the previous iteration. The company has introduced numerous features to simplify the workflow.
Zeiss' Calypso 2021 is the company’s latest version of its measurement software. According to Zeiss, Calypso 2021 focuses on standard geometries and reduces the time and effort needed to analyze workpieces. Measurement results are reportedly available 20 times faster than with Zeiss Calypso 2020.
The new software introduces Zeiss Calypso dynamic planning, which allows for adjustment of the inspection scope based on dynamic rules from the computer-aided quality system (CAQ) and manufacturing execution system (MES). Zeiss Calypso 2021 also enables programming from the product and measuring information (PMI) with Step AP 242.
Zeiss says improvements in the programming process will contribute to additional time savings; for example, Zeiss has simplified the workflow for showing deviation flags and introduced improvements for importing PMI. In addition, Zeiss updated the creation of reports and comparison of inspection plans with Zeiss PiWeb, which the company says will contribute to more time savings.
