Wire EDM Machine Is Useful For Intricacies

Share

Leaders-In background

The UP32i wire EDM machine is useful for machining complex items that require extensive and intricate machining. Precision parts, progressive dies and highly engineered plastic molds for semiconductor devices, connectors, consumer electronics and precision machine components are among the applications for which the machine is suited.

Unattended machining time is optimized by integrating a range of auto threading methods, including high speed, small hole and normal settings that are randomly established within the same program based on the necessary application.

The wire is threaded in 15 seconds with the customized automatic wire threading process, and within standard specifications, automatic threading is possible for start holes as small as 0.19" (4.826 mm) in diameter.

According to the company, 12,000 machining hours can be achieved from one set of wire guides, with wire diameter ranges from 0.003" to 0.012" (0.0762 to 0:3048 mm). Additionally, vertical alignment is virtually eliminated because the guides do not require removal for cleaning.

Other features include the ability to handle submerged part weights of 1,323 lbs (600 kg), with a maximum part size of 31.1 × 26.4 × 8.7" on a 24.8 × 18.1"-table; an XYZ-axis travel of 14.7 × 10.6 × 8.7"; and a 50-nm scale feedback system.

The taper angle is ± 15 degrees, with an optional ± 35 degrees.
