An optional six-station wheel changer makes the six-axis GrindSmart series of multi-axis tool grinding machines even more suitable for continuous production and more versatile for specialty cutting tools, such as form and step tools, the company says.
An optional six-station wheel changer makes the six-axis GrindSmart series of multi-axis tool grinding machines even more suitable for continuous production and more versatile for specialty cutting tools, such as form and step tools, the company says. Particularly suited for manufacturing rotary cutting tools and inserts, the machine produces high-quality tools with total-cost efficiency, the company says.
The wheel-changing station includes relevant coolant pipes to enable automatic change-over without operator intervention. It is integrated into the standard machine, additional floor space is not required.
Also available is the LaserSmart laser ablation machine, which offers extra-fine, 3D laser machining for the cutting tool industry. It is suited for PCD, cBN and other hard, high-technology materials in applications such as rake faces, chip breakers, logos and tool numbers.
