Toshiba Machine Co. America’s TUE-100 vertical turning lathe offers a 1-m (40") table diameter for high-speed cutting of workpieces ranging to 2,000 kg (4,400 lbs). The VTL features a ram cross-section identical to that of larger TUE models to support the railhead for increased precision. Two types of bearings support the table’s radial and axial loads, and the cast iron bed is designed for efficient chip removal. Feed rates range to 2,000 mm/min. for faster cycle times and increased productivity. A range of table speeds enables quality surface finishes on a variety of materials, the company says.
