Kurt Manufacturing Company's HDL ClusterTowers provide repeatable clamping to 0.001" and as much as 6,316 lbs of clamping force at 70 lbs of torque. To maximize machine cycle times, these towers accommodate multiple parts in eight clamping stations, each of which has 4" openings.
Intended for use on mid-sized and large machining centers, including HMCs and VMCs with four axes, the systems are said to reduce the time required for changing tools. According to the company, setup time can also be lowered because of quick-change jaws. With a half-turn of a hex key, the stationary jaw lifts off the vise module of the tower.
