Allied Machine & Engineering (AME) offers its GEN3SYS XT toolholder and insert combination for structural steel applications. Enhancements to the insert and holder provide the effective chip formation and toughness characteristics required for these harsh drilling applications, says the company. The inserts are available in AME’s C2 (K20) carbide grade with AM300 coating for optimal life. Holders are available in 3, 5 and 7×D lengths, and inserts are available in a variety of sizes common to the structural steel industry.
