View MoreThe Hydro-Grip HD (heavy duty) from Sandvik Coromant offers high clamping forces for heavy roughing applications. The toolholder securely clamps cylindrical-shank tools with symmetrical force to minimize runout and ensure high torque transmission. The torque helps reduce vibrations during the machining process. Over multiple clamping cycles, the characteristics enable quality component surfaces and prolong tool life, the company says. Each chuck is individually balanced to G2.5 to provide high speed capability.
The company says the toolholder improves efficiency by enabling quick and easy setups and tool changes. Based on a hydraulic tool clamping system, it can be tightened or released with a dedicated torque wrench. No external equipment is required to clamp or unclamp the system.
The complete line of high-precision toolholders offers secure tool clamping for applications ranging from finishing to heavy roughing in bore diameters from 0.236" to 1.26". Tolerance is held within microns to improve tool accuracy, component surface quality and productivity, the company says.
