LMT’s thread-rolling head systems can be used on virtually any machine tool including basic engine lathes, pillar drills, rotary transfer machines, NC and CNC lathes, and machining centers, among others. The thread-rolling heads are capable of creating threads in one pass, reducing threading time over single-point threading processes and improving surface finishes, the company says. The heads are said to produce most normal thread types and thread diameters ranging from 0.055" to 9.055".
