View MoreThe Zip One from Walter Surface Technologies is a high-performance cut-off wheel measuring 1-mm thick. Designed for cutting thin-gauge metals (less than 5/64" in thickness), the Zip One is a specially-reinforced disc bonded with a proprietary mix of advanced abrasives that deliver cool cutting conditions. In addition, a new technology enables an optimal grit distribution throughout the disc. The company says that this is the first cut-off wheel to deliver a true 1-mm width.
It is said to enable precise cuts without vibrations and very low friction. High speed cutting also avoids discoloration on cuts and reduces post-cut finishing operations such as burr removal. The cut-off wheel is manufactured with an iron-free mix that won’t contaminate stainless steel. It is well-suited for aerospace, transportation, fabrication, automotive, HVAC and other industries using thin-gauge sheet.
