System Manages Multiple Manufacturing Processes
Share
Fastems’ latest Medium Duty Multi-level Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS-MD) includes the Manufacturing Management System (MMS) 4.1 control system. The control provides real-time statistics and diagnostics of current production orders, as well as historical data for previously completed orders.
Unlike typical pallet systems that handle only machine pallets, the company says its product uses the MMS control to manage raw materials, in-process machining, program management, tool delivery and automatic tool data updating through finished parts. The system is said to allow manufacturers to machine production to a schedule, add and prioritize rush jobs within the job queue and modify work in process. In addition, there is an option to link the system to a networked MRP system.
