Braking force is produced via springs, so basic fluctuations in voltage and temperature have virtually no effect on the brake, the company says. Applications include automatic hoists, conveyors, cranes, winders and automated storage systems to stop operations where materials are being transported vertically or horizontally. Other applications include machine tools, especially automatic lathes and vertical lathes, to stop and hold moving parts on the work table.
A torque adjustment ring allows variable torque depending on the application, and manual release is available for releasing the brake when the power is off. Durable friction material extends brake life and maximizes performance. A splined hub with an anti-rattle feature promotes quiet operation.
