Spindle Head Attachment Adds Five-Axis Capabilities
Tri-Tech Precision Products will demonstrate its Model 5414-R4 programmable five-axis spindle head attachment, designed to attach to virtually any three-axis CNC milling center for true simultaneous five-axis milling, drilling and grinding.
Tri-Tech Precision Products will demonstrate its Model 5414-R4 programmable five-axis spindle head attachment, designed to attach to virtually any three-axis CNC milling center for true simultaneous five-axis milling, drilling and grinding. Capable of handling full five-axis profiling, contouring, slots and holes, the attachment features a sturdy holding feature said to enable quick installation in less than 30 min. Access to all points within the hemisphere of the host machine’s work envelope is possible. The attachment is available with a postprocessor designed to work with virtually any five-axis-capable CAM software product or CNC control. It can be equipped with a mechanical (5:1) speeder or pneumatic spindle for high speeds ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 rpm. The attachment is well-suited for mold, aerospace, specialty automotive, energy and instrument manufacturing.
