Partmaker Inc., a division of Delcam Plc., offers a new version of its PartMaker software for programming CNC machines. The updated version features improved four- and five-axis simultaneous milling strategies through an advanced surface machining-multi-axis (ASM-MX) module. The new milling functionality in Partmaker Version 2013 R2 applies across the entire PartMaker CAM suite, including the mill, turn-mill and SwissCAM modules, and is based on the approach to multi-axis programming used in PowerMill. ASM-MX provides complete tool-axis control for all five-axis simultaneous machining strategies, and also features a strategy called Spline Finishing for machining parts with curves such as angulated abutments found in the dental implant industry.
