Leaders-In background

The company's self-contained power chucks can satisfy a range of turning applications because of the design features that promote flexibility and versatility, the company says.

Requiring only a single 80 psi air supply, the chucks are designed with variable gripping for internal and external workholding, thus avoiding distortion of fragile components. According to the company, they can be easily and quickly mounted to most makes of lathes and are ideal for machine retrofits/rebuilds. They are also suitable for testing, grinding and automation applications and are available in a range of diameters from 80 mm to 315 mm. Soft jaws, hard jaws and customized jaws to suit the workpiece shape are available. Other features are said to include a two-jaw option, a rotating and non-rotating version and low maintenance. No additional power cylinder is necessary.
