Self-Contained Air Chuck Designed for Pipe Applications
Kitagawa-Northtech offers the UPR self-contained air chuck designed for oil pipe applications.
Kitagawa-Northtech offers the UPR self-contained air chuck designed for oil pipe applications. The chuck features a larger through-hole to accommodate workpiece diameters ranging from 7.2" to 22.0". A long jaw stroke creates more flexibility for accommodating various pipe and coupling sizes, as well as stepped material. The simplified chuck body features fewer components for easier maintenance, faster installation and removal, and improved safety. The chuck is equipped with a built-in air cylinder so there is no need for a separate actuator and draw tube, and an air-distribution ring is assembled within the chuck body. Built-in jaw stroke and pressure sensor safety devices help prevent incomplete gripping. A shorter mounting bracket for the distribution ring eases centering to the lathe spindle.
