Scanning Measuring Machine For Small Shops

The DuraMax compact 3D coordinate measuring machine (CMM) features the VastXXT sensor and is said to be an alternative for virtually all types of gages. The company says this CMM is suited for process control on the production floor, for the quick in-between inspection of small workpieces and for testing volume parts directly in production. According to the company, the CMM is an alternative for traditional measuring equipment such as height gages, ring gages, snap gages, plug gages, form measuring machines, workshop measuring equipment and manual measuring machines.

When combined with CAD-based Calypso measuring software, the CMM can quickly and easily measures virtually all changes made to a product, the company says.

Scanning is a standard feature of the CMM, but it also offers single-point probing. The Vast XXT scanning sensor scans with high speed and provides dimensional information on the part features.

According to the company, the CMM can withstand rough environments and demonstrate high stability over a broad temperature range. The MPE values range from 2.4 + L/300 µm at 65 to 72°F and 2.9 + L/200 µm at 65 to 86°F.
