View MoreDri-Touch Amber rust blocker from Birchwood Technologies offers low volatile organic content and virtually no odor. Rated for 96 to 120 hrs. salt spray and 600+ hrs. humidity protection, the rust blocker forms a protective barrier film that resists atmospheric humidity and corrosion.
The liquid produces a film thickness of 0.15 mil and provides effective coverage of approximately 1,500 sq. ft. per gallon. It can be applied to wet or dry surfaces by immersion or pump spray process. The liquid’s thin consistency enables it to quickly penetrate recessed areas and lift moisture from blind holes. The non-conductive film dries quickly and provides break-in lubricity where necessary, the company says. It is compatible with most lubricants, hydraulic oils and cutting oils.
The rust inhibitor can be used on packaged products such as hand tools, or applied to raw materials such as bar steel and castings prior to cutting and machining. It can be uses a as a corrosion preventive over black oxide or phosphate-conversion coatings, or on uncoated metal surfaces for long-term storage. Its 248°F flash point makes it suitable for use in manufacturing plants under air quality restrictions and areas with flammability hazards.
