View MoreComau extends its range of high-payload robots with the Smart NJ 650, which features an elevated payload to meet the need for robots than can efficiently manipulate components of significant size and weight. The robot can handle a payload as heavy as 650 kg with a maximum horizontal reach of 2.70 m and ISO 9283 repeatability from 0.15 mm. The high-reach, heavy-load robot is said to offer high stiffness, a compact design and an optimized load capacity/payload relationship. According to the company, this robot is suited to industrial applications including handling, spot welding of large body parts for the automotive sector and the manipulation of heavy components for machine tending operations, as well as palletizing, deburring and polishing, packaging, and general machining.
