Tru Temp is a low-temperature black oxide process from Birchwood Casey that protects critical components during storage or shipment. The finishing process offers break-in lubricity, anti-galling protection and creates a protective barrier against corrosion.
For valves, pumps, couplings, and associated equipment, the process forms a non-dimensional, black finish with long-term corrosion resistance. It is suited for components manufactured to tight tolerances, without affecting their functions. Because of its crystalline structure, the finish has inherent break-in lubricity and galling resistance, thereby serving as a direct replacement for zinc phosphate finishes. This property makes it possible to operate the process without the need for hazardous waste treatment equipment.
